It just seemed unlikely that two places would be selling the same thing for such vastly different prices. I few dollars difference is to be expected, but $25 difference is quite a lot. It makes me worry that what you guys have actually is the "deluxe edition" and this cheaper one is not as complete or whatever. I'll have to investigate further before making the purchase.

Man, buy it at $54. My comic shop had to pay more than that directly from the distributor.

My copy arrived today! grin

I've gone through and looked at every page but I haven't read much of it yet. It looks amazing though! It reminds me a little bit of The Ultimate Guide to the Dark Knight, but far more complete, and in more of a chronological order. I've always wanted something like this. I love how it includes just about everything you can imagine. There are references to things even I didn't know about!

Oh, and I see what you mean about the pages sticking together, Snipe. My copy did that too.

I had the Haly Circus / Flying Graysons page blown up a bit and printed into a poster. 13x24 and framed.

Told you I could wait years!

Is this book more awesome in hardcover or should I just go for the cheaper softcover? I'm a sucker for awesome hardcover stuff but I also feel like I could be wasting my money.

I never saw it listed in softcover. It's great in over-sized HC, but money is money. If I could get it cheaper, I probably would. Also, space. HC takes up way too much for me at this point.

Honestly, I wasn't aware of a softcover version. Sometimes they 'expand' these with additional material because they are published later, so I would be surprised if anything was dropped from the original release. The original covered beautifully Our Continuity ending very nicely just before Flashpoint.

Quick research doesn't flag up any noticeable differences. There aren't any gimmicks or anything, so shrinking the scale down to a softcover shouldn't affect anything. Go for it! cheesy

Hardcover was released 2011, softcover 2014. I think they're publishing the softcover simply to cover (*snicker*) the demand with a reasonably priced version.

I bought this book some time ago for about 50 Euro (56 Dollar), but looking at the pics Nick posted, my book is missing its dust-jacket. In other case that could be a big deal for me, but this book looks just fine without. I was browsing an online marketplace and saw the book including the dustjacket (very rare, leather bound, deluxe, mint condition, yadda yadda yadda) for a whopping 425 Euro. undecided
