It has been quite a while since I read A Small Killing. Unfortunately, I do not see it anywhere on my bookshelf here at home. I fear it must be lost somewhere in my parents' house along with my other old stuff.
I remember liking the details of the art but finding the story too strange and illogical for my tastes. I won't spoil anything explicitly but it struck me as strange that, at the end, the physical world and the imaginative world could really interact. I found it especially weird since the rest of the book seemed pretty normal, in the sense that it could have been the world we inhabit. Maybe I would have expected a verbal or mental confrontation than the physical burial that took place.
But maybe there was a metaphor there that I missed when reading it. I only read it once and that was, like I mentioned, years ago so I cannot truly discuss it with you at this moment, I fear.
