The Mars Volta - De-loused in the Comatorium.

Awesome album. These guys make good 'emo/rock' music. I don't know how to label it, but I know I like it. Soemtimes the songs tend to go into the 'jamsession' direction for a lot of listeners, I would guess, but that does not bother me at all. The first two tracks (Son et Lumiere and Inertiatic Esp) are actually one song. It's pretty straightforward and I think most 'rockpeople' would like it.

They also have a new album out. My dad owns it but I haven't been able to listen to it just yet.

Other jewels on the CD: Eriatarka, Drunkenship of Lanterns and Roulette Dares (the haunt of).

Self titled. I like it alot, not as much as the stuff he did with GnR, though.

That one sounds a lot like 70s Rolling Stones to me.

It had a very cool groove to it, and I'll probably pick up their other albums now. I'd also like to get this out of the way, I liked Gilby Clarke better than Izzy as a rhythm guitarist.

Hey, it's all about taste. There's no doubt that Izzy was the heart, soul, and creativity that was GnR. Good luck finding his later albums, most have only been released outside the States, so they're tough to come by, and expensive to import.
Have you heard Gilby's solo album?

Swag. Released in 2002 on Spitfire Records. Tracii Guns makes an appearance and he does Bowie's Diamond Dogs.

Hmmm lately its been.

Trivium - Ascendancy (for the love of god everyone should buy it!!!!!!!!!!)

Killswitch Engage - The End of Heartache (again! buy it all of you!)

H.I.M - Dark Light (Very catchy shit! overboard goth tho)

Disturbed - 10,000 Fists (just wow! there cover of Genesis "Land of Confusion" is awesome!!!!)

Ra - Duality (just wow again! these guys are awesome! Their cover of the Police's "Every Little thing she does is magic" its bloody brilliant and all their songs sound different, its great!

Soilwork - Stabbing the Drama (Once again proving my theory! Any band from Europe is bloody awesome!

Thats about all I can think about right now, I try not to listen to too much music while I try to write my own but those just stand out too damn much.
