Sorry I'm late. I've been on vacation.

so I take it the Taker dvd was a disappointment?

Nope. I'd say 8.5/10. The matches that weren't that good where still very fun to watch.

I've got my own question as well, Dude: What was the first WWE PPV released on DVD? I'm interested in getting 'em.

Wrestlemania X-V was the first DVD release. Wrestlemania I is the oldest PPV on DVD. I've got I, but X-V is near impossible to find down under, tough it shouldn't be much of a problem in U.S.

Saw it and was tempted... but how good is Raven's stuff on TNA? His WWE stuff was crap and his WCW stuff was crap... didn't see him on ECW which is supposed to be good.

Supposed to be good? It was the fucking bomb! TNA rules too.

And yeah, he's a very good singles match wrestler.

I can't wait get the Bret DVD!

I had my wife tape Impact for me since I had to go to work but I wanted to finally check out TNA.

I didn't realize it was only one hour long. That said, the stuff was very rushed and I don't know what the hell is going on in the storyline. Somebody explain:

Jeff Jarrett comes out and calls Mike Tenay into the ring (I assumed he had a problem with Tenay).

Jarrett discusses how Rhyno won't be able to beat him and that everything going on is a conspiracy. (Okay... so no problem with Tenay?)

They bring up Jackie Gayda which only confuses me further.

Jarrett mentions Christian and... out comes Christian (yay).

Christian pwns Jarrett (this, by the way, was the only segment of the entire hour I found to be good... I'm making reference to the entire Jarrett/Christian interaction).

Jarrett calls him to the ring, Christian says no, Jarrett disses him and Christian runs to the ring.

Somebody (either Christian or an announcer) mentioned how Christian was going to face Monty Brown at the PPV.

Some Team Canada guy attacks Christian from behind (huh?). Is Christian feuding with Jarrett, Brown or the Team Canada guy?

Jackie Gayda comes out and Jarrett is about to stifle her when America's Most Wanted (I'm assuming that's a tag team that's part of Jarrett's stable) comes out and starts arguing with Jarrett. About what? I don't know.

Questions:
Okay, after looking on wikipedia, I know Christian is going up against Monty Brown at the PPV. I know Brown holds the #1 Contendership for the "NWA Title" (in quotes because the NWA Title is actually 1/3 of John Cena's WWE Title) and if Christian beats him he takes the #1 Contendership away from Brown. So I know his goal is to take Jarrett's belt... but what's with the Team Canada guy?

WTF is up with the Jackie Gayda thing and why were Jarrett's own buddies pissed at him?

This show should definitely be longer. I was disappointed by the 30 seconds of A.J. Syles... lying on the floor... after being beaten by Samoa Joe. You hear so much hype about a guy and when you finally see him this is what you get...

All in all, I think I'll watch some more.

P.S.: The Canadian Destroyer is the most retarded move ever. There is no way that 5' 7" and 180 lbs. Petey Williams can possibly flip his opponent like that. Entirely too much realism is sacrificed for the goal of having a cool move. It could really ruin a great match if done at the end of one.

At Genisis Scott D'amore was trying to get Christian to join Team Canada

Obvioulsy he didn't,(he also gave D'amore the unprettier at the end of the PPV) so Team Canada are pissed at him.

I think Roode attacked Christian a few weeks ago too

No idea what's going on with the Jarret/Gayda thing yet. They'll probably reveal what there relationship is this sunday or shorty after

Shame you didn't get to see AJ in action. He's fucking awesomness. Him and Joe will tear up up at the PPV

And the Canadian Destroyer rules , dammit! angry cool

I don't really care how unbelievable it is, or that the other guy has to do just as much work as Petey to pull it off

It looks cool as fuck cool

Just read that the The Abyss vs. Sabu barbed wire match is gonna open Turning Point.

I don't like them barb wire matches. I've seen the Sabu/Funk one from Born to be wired and the Sabu/Funk/Douglas from Hardcore Homecoming

There were both pretty sick

I DLed the Cactus Jack/Terry Funk barbed wire match. I didn't look more than a few seconds into it (not even the actual match yet, just the introductions). Anyway, the camera is like a home video camera and the quality sucks ass but that adds to the damned thing. It looks kinda like Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Add to that the fact that Foley and Funk look completely depressed like they really don't want to do this match. Both guys have faces like, "oh, shit... what are we about to do to ourselves..." I gotta watch it.

Other than that, I haven't seen one yet.

C'mon... there's gotta be other people who say, "I know it's fake but I have to draw the line at some point." The move is great if done on... Spike Dudley or... Rey Mysterio... or if the guy doing the move wasn't a SmackDown! Junior but instead someone who could feasibly (sp?) flip his opponent over like that but I can only consume so much crap in a match... that's worse than when a guy is on the top rope and his opponent conveniently slides slowly into position for a top rope move.

Of course, I was very picky when Kurt Angle didn't used to grapevine the leg during an Ankle Lock and the opponent would tap out without ever trying to flip over and kick free. I just think some things are too obvious. I'm glad that just about everybody tries to kick free now and Angle holds on and eventually grapevines... much more realistic.

Sick = gross, nasty, horrible

I mean Sabu rips his arm open in the funk one, tapes it up and continues like nothing happened

I think it needed like 120 stiches. He shows the scar in an interview before the Hardcore Homecoming match (i'm sure he cut his leg open in tht match too). It must of been about 10-12 inches long

Sabu is one hardcore motherfucker

Is Abyss usually better than what I saw Monday night? He seemed like a poor Mankind and Kane amalgamation. Obviously, though, about five minutes isn't enough time to really have a match where he could've shown me something great but it left a bad taste in my mouth.

Yeah, Abyss is generally pretty good, though ridiculously overated by TNA die hards.

Seems to work best doing hardcore type shit. He takes some big bumps too

I love it when he gets the bag of thumbtacks out grin

I hope Sabu wins on Sunday though. He's lost twice already to Abyss, and this is his match

Alot of TNA loyalists on the TNA boards (and at the Hype) consider Abyss to be better than Vader in his prime, and better than Taker ever was. rolleyes

That said, he's still a good singles wrestler, and he sells well.

Exellent card IMO

The only match i really have no interest in seeing is the 4LK match.....cause they all stink except for the Truth

The match of the night is obviously gonna be Joe vs AJ

AJ, Joe's gonna kill you

Also really looking forward to the X tag match. Hope they give them 15 mins or so.......it'll still be good if they get 10 mins though. And i wanna see Roderick Strong hit more back breakers in his matches, dammit angry It should be law that he has to do at least 4 every match
