Did "the new WCW" do something wrong again, Mid? TV is set for Spike at 9.

Also, Raw was great this week. Cena showed up in the opening match and lost. Batista is a great heel who scared the crap out of some guy in the crowd wearing a Cena shirt. Bret is 100% now (yeah, like we didn't see that coming). Best of all, no MIZ and no Cena run-ins.

But why did they have to censor Austin? You can say "hell yeah" but you can't say "ass"??

No. WWE banned "intentional" chair shots to the head. Of course, WWE decides if the chair shot in question is "intentional" or not. But you gotta believe they're gonna enforce this since they're trying to clean up the company's image.

What I think is amazing is the amount of guys complaining on message boards about the product being watered down. Chris Benoit... anyone?

Seriously, if a lack of people getting hit with steel folding chairs to the cranium prevents you from enjoying wrestling, maybe you weren't ever really that interested in wrestling.

Raw was good on Monday. I'm getting more and more worried about what TNA is gonna do with RVD, though. I'm trying not to jump the gun and call them morons but I don't see how having RVD get mauled by Sting in RVD's debut appearance is a good idea. I don't see how having RVD become Hogan's flunkey on RVD's second show is a good idea. Maybe they're gonna have this pay off somehow but I don't see it. Sting's 51. Hogan's 56. Why is the 39-year old RVD being used as a tool (first by Sting to harm Hogan and then by Hogan to beat up Sting) to further a rivalry between two guys that are not TNA's future that's been done a gajillion times before in another company?

But, like I said, maybe it'll somehow pay off.

Gotta love double standards. The new Raw theme song is "Burn It To The Ground" yet you can't take a headshot. I'm surprised the screen didn't turn gray when Batista was bleeding.

Does this have anything to do with Linda running for senator? I'm sure they'll bring those chair shots back for PPV's. Sheamus needs to learn a new move for Wrestlemania.

I try to watch TNA, but I get WCW flashbacks and I have to change it ( I really hated WCW back in the 90's). It doesn't surprise me at all that RVD is being brought down. So much for "Mr. Monday Night".

What do you think of the duo that is Flair and AJ Styles?

Dare I say the most epic ending to Raw in years?

Waited until I got to see Raw last night. Wow. I had heard that Raw's ending was epic since Monday night and resisted reading any spoilers. It was worth it. If only I could have faith in the follow-through. I keep remembering when Shane bought WCW and RVD and the rest of ECW came through the crowd. Seemed like the beginning of something epic... It was the beginning of an epic FAIL. I hope this storyline actually delivers.

I thought they'd fuck this up, but didn't think it would be this fast. Danielson has been fired.

http://www.wwe.com/inside/news/14734694

Apparently it was over the tie choke

Here's what Meltzer said

"What I was told is someone very important complained about the angle and it was the idea that kids watching may think it's fun to choke people with their ties.

He was a scapegoat. They want him back when it blows over.

What I don't know is where the complaint came from, but obviously it was someone very powerful, because even people internally now that it's out can't understand why they didn't wait until Tuesday and have Cena destroy him on Raw on Monday."

The dirt sheets seem to be split 50/50 though. Some say it's legit, and some say work

I thought it was a work too until they showed his real name. This really pisses me off.

So choking a guy with a tie is bad, yet throwing people into steps and jumping from high areas to squash someone is fine? What's next, someone is going to sue because their child saw Edge slam a door on Orton and ended up knocking another kid unconscious?

It's only a matter of time before "Rated R" becomes as clean as that Slim Jim with the Bellas. Speaking of whom, how come no one complained about their revealing outfit? At one point, one of the twins was rubbing their cleavage. Double standards are so ridiculous.

And if it turns out Michael Cole is the leader behind this new group, I switch to TNA and whatever big announcement Dixie Carter is talking about.

Tie choking = unethical.

Kidnapping a stroke victim, throwing him in the back of a car and attempting vehicular homicide = good clean family fun.

I remember reading that Spider-Man in the animated series never was shown punching a person because it could be 'reproduced' by kids at home. I believe this is also stated by Bruce Timm on the commentary for the Mr. Freeze episode of Season 1 of TAS (in reference to Freeze Guns being permitable but not real guns).

I think if kids can replicate it at home it stops being PG. Kids can strangle each other but they can't stuff each other into a limousine and crash it into other vehicles as easily.

I honestly did not know that. Double standard though, because kids can lock each other into sleeper holds.

With regard to the sleeper, that would be up to WWE, since the PG rating would have to stand as it's a "wrestling hold" on the show. I'm not sure what WWE's policy is on what is and isn't allowed with regard to neck holds. The sleeper, technically, is not a "choke" by WWE rules since the front of the throat is not being squeezed. However, the Undertaker's Hell's Gate (or whatever he's calling it this week) move is a blatant choke and the storyline not only acknowledges it but also glorifies it by having the whole banned/reinstated angle.

The whole company is full of double-standards. I'm sure Triple H has never failed a piss test but only because he's never had to take one. I gotta believe that WWE did this whole Daniel Bryan thing to create something like the Matt Hardy/Edge thing a few years back where people were chanting "we want Matt" whenever Edge was in the ring. All the talent/employees are entirely too vocal about the situation.

Once again, thanks for the explanation. cheesy

To be honest, I haven't been watching, with the exception of the odd Smackdown episode. I love this Jack Swagger guy, he reminds me of Kurt Angle.

Swagger reminds me so much of Angle too. Actually, he's kinda like Angle amalgamated with a more punk kid version of Brock, as well, in my opinion. I think he'll be main eventing WrestleMania soon.

In regard to the whole tie choke situation, what's the point of those "don't try this at home" messages? There are a great many things in wrestling that children could reproduce at home and get hurt doing. That's why they say "don't try this at home". If they're going to ban everything that children could get hurt by reproducing, there would be no wrestling. I really wish they would stop trying to be PG anyway. Wrestling and PG just don't mix very well.

Oh, and I like Jack Swagger too, as a wrestler. I just can't stand the way he talks.
