I think I would have enjoyed Arkham City about 100,000 times more if it had been like this instead:

I will love this game. Man, those Robin and Nightwing bits look good.

Who has been playing Batman: Arkham City and wants to rub it in my face? I have too many games so I will not get it yet but all reviewers score this game very, very high.

I've been thinking about picking up a PS3 for this and 2K12.

We'll see.

For those wanting opinions on whether to buy consoles. This is my view:

If you want a console primarily for gaming: Buy a 360.

If you don't have Blu-Ray player yet: Buy a PS3.

My view is that the PS3, at the moment, has the better exclusive titles: Uncharted, MGS4, LittleBigPlanet 1 and 2, Ratchet & Clank, Sly Collection, Demon's Souls, God of War, Heavy Rain, InFamous 1 and 2, Team Ico Collection, The Last Guardian, Splinter Cell Trilogy, Killzone, Resistance and a bunch more that I am not personally interested in. What does Xbox have that's truly impressive? In my opinion, only Gears of War and Halo (and I don't like shooters so no loss for me).

List of exclusives.

Going online is free on PS3 but not on Xbox 360. This matters a lot if you're not a hardcore gamer. If you're hardcore, you might feel like it's worth shelling out 60 bucks a year for the services of Microsoft. If you're not so fanatical, I suggest to stay with Sony regarding that aspect as well. Some say the money is worth it for Xbox Live. My internet connection is great so have had zero problems with Sony's free service.

Another point against the 360: Microsoft puts out buggy, unfinished software, but when these same problems are translated to hardware you have a disastrous fail-rate.

Broken hardware is broken hardware. There is no patch for that, and the 360 was an internal design that was too ambitious for its casing.

I got a PS3. Walmart has an Arkham City / Arkham Asylum (GMOY edition) combo pack for $60US, so I have those as well.
Yay me!

Awesome, snipe. I'm really curious about the experiences you have with the two Arkham games. Which one will you start with: Asylum or City?

Feel free to add me to your PS3 friendslist.

I started with the first one. I'm really rusty with games - I've not played anything but a baseball game for PC since college (I went cold-turkey) - about 13-14 years ago. I'm really struggling with getting my bearings.
I started the game last night and did some exploring. I'm to the part just after stopping Zsasz.

Nice. Just take it easy (the Batman never rushes). The game gives you a nice build-up in terms of difficulty. And even then, there is no shame in playing the game -- or any game, for that matter -- on Easy.

I really loved doing those Predator and Combat Challenges in between the actual game. They really helped me hone my skills.

I aced Arkham Asylum on Hard, but Arkham City was significantly harder than that on Normal!!!

In City there are always many more enemies at once, and they have many more cheap shots to break your combos. And while counter move was your friend in Asylum, in City I would always find myself attacked by another enemy during the counter animation which was really frustrating. angry
