So, really was no new trailer. The behind the scenes thingy was pretty cool though. Sprinkling of some actual film footage

Seen pretty much everyone now, except this Snoke and Luke

And Revan won the poll, though big shock because the poll was "so tight" (In the end Revan won by 13%, guess in Hasbro universe that's close?) we're going to make Sabine too. Except they said she would have two heads, so obviously there were already making her as the poll had closed like a minute or two after they said this

So why the fuck did they even add her? Tin foil hat answer. To try and stop Revan from wining because Kylo Ren looks so similar

Rant over lol

Fucking ridiculous. Bet they're upset their precious baby didn't win and they have to do some actual work on a character the fans actually want now. Not our fault Abrams ripped off Revan for his film.

Now give me Kyle Katarn and Tenel Ka goddamnit!

New little spot thing

Surely a new trailer is close? This Force Friday event seems perfect time for it

And it is just me or does girl Luke (can never remember her name lol) look like a combination of Natalie Portman and Mark Hamill?

So, full trailer....meh

Some very cool scenes, but that's all they were. No context and not even a sniff of what the fuck the plot is

And while didn't expect to see Luke, thought might have at least fucking mentioned him. Something like, i dunno. "We need to find him" etc.

I won't bee seeing it opening day or nothing. Probably at some point not far off release though......unless it's getting panned lol

It's still a teaser methinks. Good visuals. Things I learned (just from the trailer, I've not been to any spy or conjecture sites):
1. there is an uprising
2. there are refugees
3. a new Sith / wannabe has recovered Vader's armor from Endor (like Kyp Durron in one of the novels)
4. stormtrooper defects (?) due to the force calling him
5. the lore of the original films is legend / lore, not "history"
6. they're saving Luke for the film

That trailer did nothing for me, not the least bit excited.

Maybe it's because I have been burned before with everything done since Episode I.

Maybe it's because it doesn't look all that interesting or original. Perhaps because they still won't tell us anything about the plot or who the characters are.

Maybe it's because (despite my love for the franchise up until 1999) seeing Star Wars 'everywhere' I go all the time just has me fatigued. Especially as the last 16 years have all been about Shit Star Wars.

Maybe any nostalgia I would have had was murdered by Lucas so that isn't going to do anything for me.

Just give me the un-raped original theatrical Trilogy on Blu-Ray already.

Pretty sure they said final trailer. This is it now except i would imagine tv spots maybe starting mid November?
I haven't bothered with any of that so called spoilers. 99% is just bullshit and very, very bad fan fict.

1. Uprising? Do you mean the first order?
2. Do you mean the night shots with the fire and troopers? I think there just attacking a settlement, maybe looking for someone or something
3. Yes, Vaders No 1 fanboy. Kylo Ren (or diet Revan as i've come to call him) Not a Sith, at least not in this one. He's a member of Knights Ren. Maybe some sort of Vader Cult? Maybe he founded them?
4. Without a doubt. That's one of few things made obvious. Maybe he's force sensitive. Didn't look like he was totally unfamiliar with how to at least hold a sber . I'm like 99% the calling is for the girl. She is our new Luke. And maybe related
5. That was actually kinda of neat. Full circle from not believing in "hokey religions" lol
6. Like i said, didn't expect to see him. But Not even a mention. Has me worried

I was exctied after last two teasers and then got less so. Similarly this did't really do anything

Think its because of the official info that has been made know of the characters

Seems like there are remaking the first but not calling it that of course lol

Girl Luke - Luke bit of Leia
Finn - Bit of Luke and someone else. I'll guess Chewie cause he's really loyal or something
Poe . - Han

Kylo Ren - Vader
Supreme Leader Snoke - Emperor
General Hux - Tarkin

They've even pretty much got another fucking death star

Still, probably good at least. Maybe great? It'll make a crap ton regardless. What i do know is there gonna be pumping these things out till the end of time now

When you say original's on blu-ray? Do you mean exactly as they were remastered in 4k? Because i don't think that's ever happening. Best case is get them very close. All the pointless CGi shit like banthas taking dumps gone. And the colour timing and some effects clean up. Like the sabers being the right colours etc.

I'd be happy with that

Pretty much, I'd be happy with cleaned up HD versions of whatever was used to do the 1994 Laserdisc prints. Those are what was used when Lucas finally caved to demand to release the un-raped Trilogy on DVD, so rather than put any effort into them he decided to shit them out as a lazy bonus disc on the re-released 2004 Rapage Cuts.

So yeah, I want the first film to be called Star Wars. Not Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, that was added in the 1995 or 1996 VHS release. I want it to just be called straight up Star Wars and go into the text crawl with no subtitle like I remember it and like the LD prints do.

I'm happy for them to be cleaned up to look as nice as possible. But white lightsabers of the original film I'm actually fine with, I would rather the authenticity of history be preserved - but that is the one thing I could handle if they were coloured. Just no bullshit additions like the 1997 Special Editions, the offensive 2004 rapes that pretty much gave a CGI overcoat to all the practical effects, or the even more bastardised Blu-Ray releases (fucking Ewok CGI eyelids).

As much as people criticise Dune, that looked beautiful on Blu-Ray with all those practical effects, so much better than any lazy modern CGI wankfest. I dream of seeing true Star Wars look that good.
---

And don't even get me started on the 2004 cut of Empire that added that new scene between Vader and Palpatine. So Lucas, you're trying to tell me that Vader is just learning he has a son and is shocked. Yet just twenty minutes ago you left in the scene where Vader is consciously pursuing his son? Even if you ignore all the (at the time) canon Expanded Universe, in the context of your own film it is ridiculous. And totally undermines Vader's whole character of trying to recruit Luke to otherthrow the Emperor and rule together, now that whole thing is more of a Hayden Christensen impulse than a calculated plan.

Oh, and Han didn't shoot first, Han shot. Greedo never shot at all. wink

Did he? I haven't seen the latest versions and fairly sure that's a good thing. I know he changed the puppet holo in empire to ian mcdiarmid and had him read palps lines. Which i'm fine with. Makes total sense

Also watching the trailer again. It looks like planet death star has a trench run

Yeah, Lucas totally rewrote the scene. Rather than the nice, understated, slightly chilling original, it is McDiarmid in his soap opera flamboyance and new lines by James Earl Jones phoning it it.

Pretty much Palpatine says he believes the Rebel who destroyed the Death Star is "The offspring of Anakin Skywalker". To which Earl Jones terribly acts "HOW CAN THIS BE?!"

It undermines his entire character motivation (just like Lucas did to Han Solo in 1997 by erasing his entire character development and emotional arc in one shot by Greedo) and makes Vader a total lapdog just doing what he's told. So his plan to overthrow the Emperor is now an impulsive one, not long planned to recruit Luke which is why he has been relentlessly persuing him as originally written. I liked how original Vader never truly liked or respected the Emperor and was just biding his time to otherthrow him, nope, in typical Lucas fashion, any actual character depth or subtext must be erased! I also liked how the only person in the whole goddamn Empire original Vader did seem to respect was Tarkin, but nobody fucks with Peter Cushing wink

I see, words "Lucas wrote" are enough to know something is bad lol

Vader didn't like Sidious at all. It's just basically a marriage of convenience. Learn as much as you can and then when think you're ready, kill him/her and start your Sith empire. Best thing ever read on the whole Sith dynamic is from the Darth Bane trilogy (though they go down in quality. First being by far the best) and his parts in Book of Sith which just finished. He really is an awesome and interesting character

Found this close up gif of Knights of Ren. http://gfycat.com/EthicalPerfectGrasshopper

Not only does one of them have a gun one has a freaking gun arm. Interesting none except Kylo has a lightsaber. Not only am i thinking they can't use the force, i'm starting to wonder if Kylo can. We actually haven't seen him do so. Just what looks like it. Maybe that's a twist

So, I watched it last night. In IMAX 3D.
It was a decent movie. It did not feel like Star Wars to me. I'll stay spoiler free for a while until everyone's seen it.
