However, eventually there's a chance you might grow impatient and become a trade waiter like me. That is the Squads version of the dark side.

Trades do not hold advertisements: that's a big plus for me. But I still buy my Batman (and other series) monthly in issue. I also by some series in trade alone - those are mostly Vertigo titles.

Welcome to The 'Squad, capetalf. Enjoy your stay.

IwillnotmakeajokeIwillnotmakeajokeIwillnotmakeajoke--

Anyway, I would buy the hell out of that Absolute edition--and most of the other Absolutes as well--if I wasn't stinking poor. cry

Even though I do have the original versions of the two, I would get it, if not just because I could sell them for my nice, big one, then for the extra features and if I was seriously annoyed at someone, I could knock them out with the behemoth. cool

This thread is pretty old, but I was updating the section on my website that lists the (collected) editions of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns:

http://ultimatebatmancomicswebsite.weebly.com/batman-the-dark-knight-returns-versions.html

A LOT OF DIFFERENT VERSIONS...

With the current series Dark Knight III: The Master Race, I was thinking if/when DC should/would publish a new collection of all Miller's Batman stories. They could name it ''The Absolute Frank Miller Batman'' - Vol. I-II, or something like that.

I think it's a shame that Batman: Year One isn't available in the Absolute format; it should have been included in the Absolute Dark Knight when it came out. I don't love the Absolute format that much to be honest (I recently sold my Absolute Long Halloween, Hush and Batman: Reborn), but I kept on to the Absolute Watchmen and the Absolute Dark Knight - they are classics that I want to keep, in their pretty slipcases.

So, shouldn't DC publish a new Absolute edition of Frank Miller's Batman?

- Batman: Year One
- The Dark Knight Returns
- The Dark Knight Strikes Again
- Dark Knight III: The Master Race
- All-Star Batman & Robin The Boy Wonder

I don't think they will, knowing that DKR, DKSA and ASBAR are already available in the Absolute format, but it would be nice to add Year One and DKIII to have a complete ''Absolute Frank Miller Batman'' collection...

They did, back in the '90s:
http://www.amazon.com/The-Complete-Frank-Miller-Batman/dp/068140969X

Of course, this was before DK2 and 3. It also included a stand-alone issue titled Santa Claus Must Die (I think that was the title).

"Wanted: Santa Claus--Dead or Alive."

Or so Google tells me.

Yes, I have that one, and although it is one of the prettiest books I have, I'd still like to see Year One done in an Absolute version; slipcased and oversized.

I recently bought the other Batman book by Longmeadow Press (they also published ''The Complete Frank Miller Batman''):

Stacked Deck: The Greatest Joker Stories Ever Told

Very nice!

Stacked Deck is awesome. I used to have the FM, but I sold it after we had our falling out.
