Neil Gaiman's Sandman

Why do we not have a thread for this great series?
A month ago, the sun finally came shining and the Summer spirit started rising inside me. I decided this was a good opportunity to read comics on my sunny balcony. I grabbed bSandman volume 1: Preludes & Nocturnes[/b] and started reading. It had been a while since I read all ten Sandman books and I never did read them together. I read a bunch of them, then took (too long) a break and then I continued with the series. No more! I would finish all ten regular Sandman volumes, Endless Nights, the two Dreaming books and the Absolute Death I bought for my girlfriend's birthday.
I really loved it. Since I'm on holiday, I had the entire day to read. I read several books in one day, others in two or three. The Absolute Death took me several days but it was a big one.
The experience of reading through the entire series in, more or less, one sitting keeps all the details vibrant. Multiple times I paused in the middle of one volume, grabbed a previous volume and started looking for characters I had seen somewhere before, or I searched for names I had heard elsewhere. I loved Sandman already but I never fully embraced it as I have done this past month. Especially the two Death miniseries (The High Cost of Living, The Time of Your Life) are a blast to read when you read both in succession (of the regular series as well as in succession of each other).
It's particularly good timing that I read the entire Sandman library last month because Neil Gaiman recently announced he's going to write a new six-issue miniseries. The story will detail Morpheus battle and journey that was only hinted at previously. It will end where Sandman #1 began.
