I'm back! Took a break from reading for about six months, as one does, but I've recently decided to resume my chronology. So, let's see where we left off. Superman is dead and Batman's back is broken. Good times! This will be a very short update just to get me back into the groove. The first couple items are things I read before stepping away and the rest is stuff that I dreaded picking up for so long because I knew it would bore me to death (e.g. Metamorpho, Guy Gardner), but I finally got through it so now I can move on. Here we go.

Justice League International #54-55

Showcase '93 #9-10 - Huntress meets the new Batman (Jean-Paul Valley) and finds him less disapproving of her methods than the original.

Metamorpho #1-4 - Four-part miniseries - Metamorpho reunites with his lover Sapphire Stagg.

Guy Gardner #11-14 - "Year One" - Guy recounts his life growing up in Baltimore and becoming a Green Lantern.

Justice League International #56-57 - Elongated Man leaves the team.

Black Canary #9-11 - Black Canary and Huntress meet and team up for the first time. After Canary is captured and taken away, Huntress reaches out to Nightwing (another "step-child of the Bat" as she put it) to help rescue her, and they also meet for the first time.

That's all for now. Hopefully I can pick up the pace and make some progress soon.

Time for another update! I read a pretty big chunk of stuff shortly after making my last small update, but then fell off again for a while and read only sparingly. Just picked it back up again the other day and reached a good stopping point for me to record my readings again, so here goes.

Green Arrow #79-80 - End of an era for Oliver. He tries to patch things up with Dinah but she won't take him back, and he brushes off Marianne's affections because he realizes she is too young for him. (Final issues of Mike Grell's 80-issue run.)

Catwoman #3-4 - After having hitched a ride on Bruce Wayne's private jet, Selina is still in Santa Prisca following a lead about who bombed her apartment. She checks in with Leopold, her contact back in Gotham, who tells her about "Batman" taking down Bane. After uncovering a conspiracy, she returns home.

Batman: Shadow of the Bat #19-20 - The Tally Man

Justice League America #80-83 - Booster Gold gets a new outfit. Captain Atom reveals that he is still alive and secretly been working for the government.

Justice League America Annual #7 (1993) - Part of Bloodlines: Earthplague.

Deathstroke, The Terminator Annual #2 (1993) - Part of Bloodlines: Deathstorm
Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight Annual #3 (1993) - Part of Bloodlines: Deathstorm
Team Titans Annual #1 (1993) - Part of Bloodlines: Deathstorm

Justice League Task Force #7-8

Justice League International #58-62

The Return of Superman - After Superman's death, four "imposter" Supermen begin appearing in Metropolis: The Man of Steel, who is simply a man inspired by Superman who builds himself an armored suit; The Last Son of Krypton, who is in fact a manifestation of The Eradicator, the ancient Kryptonian artifact dedicated to preserving Kryptonian life; Superboy, who is a clone of Superman being created by the Cadmus Project but is freed prematurely; and the Cyborg Superman; who turns out to be the villainous Hank Henshaw. Eventually, the alien ship of Mongol arrives on Earth and he plans to turn Earth into a new Warworld, with the help of the Cyborg Superman. They completely obliterate Coast City, home of Green Lantern, and replace it with a huge engine, with plans to do the same to Metropolis next so they can pilot the Earth away. Meanwhile, it is revealed that the body of the real Superman was brought to a regeneration matrix in the Fortress of Solitude, and when he hears the news reports of the threat to Metropolis, he pilots a Kryptonian battle suit all the way to Metropolis and dramatically emerges from it at the airport in front of Lois Lane, Steel, Superboy, and Supergirl just as they're about to leave for the Coast City area to confront the Cyborg Superman and Mongol. After a lengthy battle, with Green Lantern joining the fray, the good guys win, and Superman is back for good.

Batman: Turning Points #4

Showcase '93 #11-12 - Nightwing and Robin team up.

The New Titans #102-107 - Terminus: The Fate of Cyborg - Cyborg temporarily regains his consciousness, but in the end he voluntarily allows himself to be absorbed into the hive-mind known as Technis to end his years of suffering.

Green Arrow #81 - With Dinah out of the picture, Oliver decides to leave Seattle. Beginning of the "Crossroads" saga.

Bloodbath #1-2 - The awful Bloodlines storyline mercifully comes to an end in this two-part story. The alien parasites are finally defeated.

Black Canary #12 - Final issue of the series. Dinah's flower shop is blown up.

Green Arrow #82 - Oliver passes through San Fransisco. He gets a new costume and a new bow.

Justice League America #84-85

Showcase '94 #1-2 - Featuring the Joker.

Justice League Task Force #9

Green Arrow #83 - Oliver stops by L.A. hunting down the Yakuza but they quickly find him first. He meets the Huntress for the first time and they team up on a mission before Oliver heads off to another city.

Showcase '94 #3-4 - The Arkham inmates are moved to Blackgate Prison until a new Asylum is built, since the old one is still in ruins after Bane's attack.

Detective Comics #667-668 - Jean-Paul begins using a new vehicle that runs on the subway tracks connected to the Batcave. The Trigger Twins come to town and begin planning a heist. Jean-Paul blocks Robin out of the cave and physically attacks him when he finds a way in. Continued in...

Robin: Flying Solo - Beginning of Robin's ongoing monthly series. Robin teams up with Spoiler to foil a plot by her father the Cluemaster. Later, he teams up with the Huntress to take down some mafia thugs.

Batman: Shadow of the Bat #21-23 - Part of Knightquest: The Search. Bruce and Alfred are in London in their search for Jack Drake and Shondra Kinsolving. Bruce enlists the help of an English hero called Hood. Bruce also realizes he is in love with Shondra. He eventually tracks them down and is able to rescue Jack but Shondra still slips through his fingers, though he vows to continue searching.

Batman #501-502

Detective Comics #669 - Jean-Paul finally takes down the Trigger Twins.

Catwoman #5

Detective Comics #670 - Mister Freeze's frozen body is pulled out of the river, having been "killed" some time ago by the Joker. After he thaws out at the morgue, he wakes up and Batman (Jean-Paul) has to take him down.

Catwoman #6 - Knightquest: The Crusade tie-in. Catwoman gets caught up with some environmental activists and steals a neurotoxin, bringing her into conflict with the new Batman.
Batman #503-504 - Jean-Paul goes after Catwoman, unconvinced that she wasn't doing anything wrong. Catwoman realizes he's not the same man.
Catwoman #7 - Catwoman convinces Batman that they're on the same side and they work together to stop the terrorists who wanted the neurotoxin.

Batman: Shadow of the Bat #24

Detective Comics #671-673 - Jean-Paul meets the Joker for the first time. Joker realizes it's not the same Batman. Jean-Paul puts him down but he escapes once again on the way to the hospital.

Batman #505 - Jean-Paul goes after the Abattoir, but he escapes before he can take him in.

Batman: Shadow of the Bat #25 - After an encounter with the Corrosive Man, Jean-Paul designs a new even more heavily armored suit.

Batman & Superman: World's Finest #9 (second part only) - Superman encounters the new Batman.
