This weekend I took the plunge and ordered Absolute Batman Incorporated. I'm really excited to see the retouched pages (whenever I finally get to actually reading comic books).

So it came in the mail... and pages were loosening up already. Sent it straight back. Unfortunately, it was their only one in stock. So I'll read the Absolute edition another time.

That's disappointing about the pages. Mine was perfect when it arrived, but I haven't opened it up in a while so hopefully that's still the case... I've been concerned about the quality of DCs binding in recent years.

Did you check out the redone pages before sending it back? I particularly liked how in the flashbacks Batman was back in his correct costume for the time period being referenced rather than having him retroactively in that horrible New 52 suit.

The disappointing change, was rather than give Gordon white hair in the New 52 issues, they went back and gave him red hair in the old DCU stuff instead. Yeah, there was less to change by doing it that way, but as they made the flashbacks DCU consistent, it would have been nice to do a bit more to try and make it all visually DCU rather than New 52, but hey ho. I can live with red Nightwing, the blue is better, but if he does back to Nightwing after being Batman I can overlook him having a change-up.

I can't say I like Chris Burnham's art all that much, but his completed pages are so much better than the original horrible fill in art, so it was nice seeing his completed pages instead.
