TheMidnighter recently discovered 2012 is our 10th anniversary. Since the post-Flashpoint DCU is a failure, I feel like now is a good time to go back to basics. New logo, same layout, removed a bunch of extraneous stuff.

Sweet! It would be awesome to send out an email to some of our past active members. Hopefully to get some update on what they are up to nowadays. I do not dare hope some will stick around but just a word would be cool.

We also need some anniversary-themed threads such as "reason for joining," "fondest Squad memory/thread/running gag/what have you," "who from the Bat and/or DC Universe do you think best represents a certain BatSquad member?" "try and name a trivial piece of information about/impression of the previous BatSquad member" or something along those lines. (I'm just naming everything I think of at 3.30 am so we might need to refine some of this stuff.)

I would also love to see a revival of the picture thread where we post a current picture of ourselves. I liked that personal touch. Old and funny pictures are certainly welcome but to be able to put a face to the (user)name was always something I enjoyed. (Especially with SquadBabes arteris (spelling?) and emma!)

I may do one of those email blasts. I don't think it helped last time, though.
I've updated character header images and scanned Red Robin 1-26. I'll try and get those read / documented in the next couple of weeks before moving on to the rest of the "Battle for the Cowl" through "Flashpiont" stuff.

That's probably not the final for Catwoman, I'm not too pleased with it. It's also pretty damned hard to find an image of Oracle that (a) looks well formatted for horizontal use and (b) doesn't make her look helpless.

I did some updating on the characters page (added logos, info):

http://www.thebatsquad.net/characters.html

Also caught up on the Batgirl titles. Working on Birds of Prey next (probably)

Happy 10th birthday, TBS.net. I'm glad to see you have become a haven for our continuity.

I don't know about the rest of you but I still enjoyed myself on these boards, even with only five or so regular visitors. On to the next couple of years.

Quality over quantity, man. Let's look at it from a glass half-full perspective.

Too many boards with borderline illiterates posting a hundred messages a day in a field of a thousand players. No thanks.

But what happened to Dr Mafusa?

Definitely agree with this, it is the very reason I come here! When I browse other boards I see a lot of posts from people who claim to know what they're talking about, but their posts are filled with errors about fundamental aspects of the characters and stories. When I come here I know I'm talking with the actual genuine passionate readers who have both read and understand the stuff.

I'd rather be a member of this little elite club than fighting to have my voice heard in a mass of idiocy who struggle to comprehend logic.

That's not to say this place should be intimidating to newer readers who wish to know more about the good Continuity, this is the best place to find people who will take the time to offer genuine informed advice.

Well, I have to admit that I've been tempted to sign up for an account on CBR. But that's purely because I'd like to troll the Marvel Inc. shills that post there (I think Mark Waid's even made an appearance).

I can't tell what's worse: the lunatics that work at Marvel that monitor message boards, having conniptions over non-complimentary posts, or the fanboys that defend anything and everything they write, whether on a comic book page or an internet forum.

Tautological Modern Anthropology or proof of The Missing Link?
