Did you get to talk to Neal Adams, snipe? I know I loved meeting the man during the Toronto Comic Convention last year.

Since January I have worked at a high school for children with autism. During Summer break I received an offer from a college to start working there. The pay is better, it is more in line with my studies and expertise, and there is more potential for growth. So even though I had a great time working at the special needs high school, I switched jobs.

September is the final month at my old job as well as my first month of my new job. Plus I decided to start a study to become a licensed mathematics teacher. In other words, this is an especially hectic month for me. This too shall pass...

After finishing Preacher, I'm kind of looking forward to reading some more comic books when I have the time. I was hoping the second deluxe hardcover for Saga would be out by the end of the year but I haven't seen any solicitations for it yet. My girlfriend is reading the five (old) Batman: No Man's Land trades and absolutely digging them.

Yes, actually. I'd heard horror stories about people trying to, mostly about his wife and her wanting to keep the line moving. This was a smaller convention with no lines, and I was able to go right up to him and have a bit of a conversation.
Pretty nice guy. Talked more than I wanted him to. He seems to be one of those who don't want things to change. I told him I was a Nightwing fan, and he told me that Dick Grayson was Robin, that Batman was 29 and that if writers wanted new characters, then they should be creative and create new characters without messing with the old ones.
In other words, characters shouldn't be allowed to grow, and the heroes should never be in real danger.

Tonight I tried out with a band. Four people I had never met before, but they like and play Porcupine Tree, Tool, Foo Fighters and the likes, so I was interested.

I reheasred five songs by Foo Fighters, 30 Seconds to Mars, Panic at the Disco, Muse and Paramore. All seemed to go really well. We played through the fice songs. Then they asked: how about Tool? They wanted to play Forty-Six & 2. I said I hadn't practised so that I might be a tad rusty, but that I knew the song.

I completely nailed that drumsolo intermezzo.

After we finished playing that song, I felt so happy. They were flabbergasted too. Their previous drummer always screwed it up, they said. Playing the Forty-Six & 2 solo is one to take off the bucket list.

All in all, a fun night. I'm glad to be back playing the drums. Also, I'm happy to have an awesome drumkit to play on.

Ha, will do. No idea when or if that will ever happen.

Actually, I do know those guys recorded some stuff before. I haven't a clue where those recordings ended up but they didn't send them to me to listen to beforehand.

Sounds like a good match if you already knew the songs they rehearse. How'd you come about them? An advertisement or word of mouth?

Hey snipe, I never answered your question. On the website for the province I live in, I put up a personal ad offering my drum services. They contacted me because their previous drummer couldn't commit to the band any more.

I've been a father for two years now. It's the coolest endeavour I've ever started.

Wow, congrats! That's something I never had the guts to do. My wife has a 20 year old daughter, but she's never home.

Thanks! Some people want it, others don't, others not yet.

At the moment it mostly consists of hearing 'No' a lot and watching Kung-Fu Panda every time Netflix is on. It's great!

Seeing this picture, I couldn't help but think Rob Liefeld designs clothing now.
